Genuine 100% original badges for uniforms of aviation officers and airborne forces of The Soviet Union. These gold colour USSR badges are new, with normal marks of long storage. Size: 2.3x1.7 in (6x4.5cm).
The cap badge is made of anodized goldish metal in the form of an elongated hemisphere with the lateral surface consisting of 32 corrugated dihedral goldish rays, framed with a wreath of ears (eight on each side), tied at the bottom with a ribbon with strips on the edges. The cockade is fastened to the cap band with a clamper (or “the barbs”). The central part of the cockade is flat, and consists of an ellipse with white enamel, on which there is a five-pointed red star with the hammer and sickle. In this design the emblem existed up to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, but it continued to be actively used in the symbolism of the Russian Army until 1998. The five-pointed star is an ancient symbol of protection and power. The red color is the personification of the Revolution, the color of the Soviet State Flag, a symbol of strength and courage. The red five-pointed star is the official emblem of the Soviet Army. The hammer and sickle is the main state emblem of the Soviet Union. The crossed hammer and sickle symbolize the unity of the workers and peasants in their peaceful creative labor. The five-pointed red star with the hammer and sickle is the symbol of the final triumph of the ideas of communism in the five continents of the globe. The laurel wreath is a symbol of fidelity to duty, valor and glory of the Soviet soldiers.
